Tooth Extractions
Danforth Extractions
When you need to have a tooth removed to keep the rest of your mouth and teeth in good shape, there’s no need to feel anxious at all when you’ve got the right data. Here at Danforth Dental, we want you to have all the information you need to put your mind at ease. We want our Danforth and Toronto clients to have a solid idea about what our procedures are about.
First and foremost, we’ll numb the area in question so there is no discomfort. Remember that a tooth generally needs to come out for a variety of different reasons like crowding, trauma or disease, so it’s all for the best. After the procedure is done, we’ll even suggest an after care regime to help Danforth extractions heal.
It’s best to leave the affected area alone as much as possible but if you need to rinse, you should do so gently. If there’s a bit of swelling, you can put an ice bag against the spot and give us a call so we can make sure there’s nothing really wrong. You can brush and floss the other teeth just like normal, but it’s important to be sure you stay away from the spot where the tooth was extracted.
You should avoid drinking through a straw for 24 hours after Danforth extractions and although a small amount of bleeding is normal, you need to contact us if it becomes a problem.
